ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY

The annual meeting of the New Zealand Astronomical Society was held last evening at the City Observatory, about twenty members attending. Mr. N. D. Hood was in the chair.

The annual report, published in yesterday s "Post," was read and adopted, and the various sectional reports were also read. No election of officers was necessary this year.

It was decided to send a letter of congratulation to Mr. Geddes, the discoverer of the comet now bearing his name, x v eT t'le conc'lls>on of the business Mr. I. h. Thomsen read a paper on the solar system.
