SOCIAL AND DANCE
FOR VISITING CHEMISTS
Over five hundred guests attended the social and dance given by the Wellington Division of the New Zealand Pharmaceutical Society, at the Pharmacy Hall, Cambridge Terrace, last evening. ■
The dance marked the conclusion pf the _ conference of the Pharmaceutical Society in • conjunction with the Chemists' Service Guild of New Zealand.
The host and hostess for the evening were Mr. J. C. Burberry, chairman of the Wellington Division of the Pharmaceutical' Society, and Mrs. Burberry, who wore a pirate red lace gown and coatee.
An enjoyable musical programme comprised songs by Mrs. Harold King (Auckland), Mrs. F. Histed, Miss Jeanette Briggs, and Mr. D. Stark.
A delightful exhibition of ballroom dancing was given by Miss Mavis Pearce and Mr. Lloyd *i.thea.
During the evening Mr. Burberry thanked those who had given items, and also members of the committee, who had worked hard and willingly throughout the conference.
Mr. Edward Smith, president of the Pharmacy Board, on behalf of the visiting delegates, expressed appreciation of the hospitality extended them during their stay in Wellington.
The committee responsible for the entertaining of delegates throughout the conference comprised Mesdames, Burberry, Castle, Rickard, Histcd, Farquharsen, Misses Sunderland, Ramsay, O. Hutchins, Lucena, and Wilton; Messrs. Burberry, F. King (jun.), Harman, C. T. Arthur, W. McMillan, R. Aldersley, F. Ryan, W. Bundle, A. Beale, H. J. S. Rickard, R. Johnson, and H. Farquharson.
