STRONG PROTEST LIKELY

LONDON, 'March 14. No satisfactory reply to the representations of Sir Esmond Ovey, British Ambassador in Moscow to the Soviet, has yet been received. London has not been informed of the specific charge against the arrested men apart from the general reference to sabotage. The Embassy will be permitted to visit the prisoners in the presence of Soviet officials provided that no reference is made to. the affair.
Sir Esmond Ovey is continuing his urgent inquiries and is likely strongly to protest if the Soviet further withholds precise information. The Embassy has not even been advised where the four unreleased men are imprisoned. They have brtm given, no facilities to prepare a defence.
