(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHKISTdHtJKCH, This Day. When two young men stole a motor* cycle recently they;changed the num-j ber plates "with those on - another! machine. The complete' ignorance of j the owner of the second machine of this change prompted Detective-Ser-1 geant O 'Brien to remark in the Magis- j trate 's Court' that, amazing as it j seemed, 50 per cent, of the people who < called upon the police to report thefts j of motor v.chicles were unable to give the numbers on their plates.
