NELSON COLLEGE

PLANS FOR JUBILEE

The comfortable rooms of the Lyceum Club were gay with flowers last evening, when a large number of Nelson College old girls assembled for a reunion party. Gladioli, marigolds, and helium were beautifully blended with bush foliage, the effeet'being charming. The college song was sung by all present, and a short programme followed, the items including a piano solo by Miss Gillespie, songs by Miss Fair and Miss Malfroy, a recitation by Miss Fathers, and a solo dance by Miss Gillespie. Mrs. Vickcry played the accompaniments.

Miss Lorimer, an ex-principal of the college, spoke of tho forthcoming jubilee and of the outstanding success of the recent Wellington Girls' College jubilee, at some of the functions of which she had been a guest. Both colleges had opened on the same day fifty years ago. Miss lioriincr also gave an account of a visit to Cheltenham School, one of tho large girls' "public schools" in England.

Somo details of the arrangements for the jubilee were given by tho secretary, Miss McKenzie, and several old girls signified their intention of visiting Nelson for the celebrations, which will begin on Easter Saturday and conclude on Easter Monday.

An enjoyable competition was held during the evening^ and suppej served.
