DAY AT HERTAUNGA
TENNIS TOURNAMENT
Miss Sheila Macßryde, who has been spending some months at Heretaunga with Miss Penelope Blundell, will return to Sydney tomorrow, and before leaving has been the guest of honour at a number of farewell parties. Yesterday at Heretaunga a delightful allday party was given by Miss Ailsa Nelson, who invited a number of friends to tennis and "al fresco" luncheon.
The day and the surroundings were ideal for an outdoor party, and a keenly-contested tennis tournament occupied the whole day, which was concluded by many of the guests with a bathe in the river.
Ices and iced drinks were served during the afternoon, and tea was set in the golfhouse dining-room, where sprays of blue Michaelmas daisies decorated the tables.
The winners of the tennis tournament were Mrs. Bryan Todd and Miss Sheila Hudson, who beat Miss Alison Pearce and Miss Catherine Young in the final match.'
Among the guests were Mrs. W. L. Rolleston, Mrs. 0. E. W. Levin, Mrs. J. F. Vogel, Mrs. Bryan Todd, Mrs. Pat Williams, Misses Sheila Macßryde, Catherine Young, Joyce Nathan, Helen Whyte, Cara Johnston, Penelope Blundell, Sheila Hudson, Phyllis Candy (Hastings), Sheila Todd, Alison Pearce, Annette Harcourt, Monica Malfroy, Pamela Riddiford, Mac Gilmer, Betty Herbert, Margaret., Shand.
