MARLBOROUGH SOUNDS
MONOWATS NEXT CRUISE,
On Monday, March. 6, the 11,000-ton liner Monowai •will leave Wellington at 7.30 p.m. for a cruise to D'Urville Island and the Marlborough Bounds. The intention is that after leaving the ■wharf* she will anchor in the harbour for the rest of the evening bo as to allow the passengers to settle down and make one another's acquaintance, dancing being indulged in to that end. The next morning will find the vessel in Port Hardy, the large and' almost landlocked inlet at the northern end of D'Urville Island, and following that on successive days the vessel will cruise in historic Queen Charlotte Sound and Pelorus Sound. Amongst the many amusements on the cruise will be bathing, boating, fishing, dancing, deck games, music, bridge, moving pictures, and community singing, culminating in a gala dinner vand fancy dress ball which will probably be held on the last evening aboard. The return to Wellington will be made in the morning of Friday, March
