ESPERANTO CLUB.
The Wellington Esperanto Club- met last evning in_ the V.M.C.A. Mr. Bertram Potts presided. Five tuition classes were organised, and several new members were enrolled. At the conclusion of classes a special programme was presented for the benefit of . the junior students. Miss Coralie Smythson gave an interesting talk on "Nov-Zelando—La Paradizo de la Sportisto," describing graphically in simple Esperanto the thrills of fishermen engaged in catching swordfish. Mr. Vernon Leek presented a humorous talk in Esperanto in the same subject. Mr. Gordon Harkness, in a talk entitled "Adventuro kan Kangaruo," narrated an entertaining story of the capture and subsequent escape of an old man kangaroo. In conclusion, the president gave a brief talk on "La Falo de Arba Giganto," specially directed to -beginners. The various lectures and talks were illustrated-by coloured posters from both the New Zealand and Australian publicity service., and proved helpful to junior students.
