PERSONAL.
Captain V. G. Webb, marine superintendent' or the Union Steam Ship Company, is at present on holiday leave. Captain A. T. Norton has resumed command of the Hauraki after holidays, relieving Captain F. L. G. Jaunay, who has gone to Auckland ,on leave. • Mr. G. H. Kime has joined the Makura as second officer, reUeving Mr. A. P. Cousin for holidays, and Mr. D. H. Blchards has Joined that vessel as third-officer. Mr. A. W. Babbitts, late second officer or the Poolta, has gone to Sydney for further orders. I Captain Duncan' Mac Donald .has rejoined the Makura at Sydney, on-completion of holiday leave, relieving Captain W. Martin, who is coming ashore for further 'orders.
WAITEMATA FOR JAPAN,
A Japanese crew for the steamer Waitemata, which • the Union Company- sold to William Crosby and Company: Proprietary, Melbourne, who in turn sold it to the Yamashlta Shipping Company, will arrive In . Auckland on ■ February 24, and will take the vessel to Japan.
MATAI DELAYED.
The Matai has been delayed at Westport, and will not now arrive at Wellington until Friday. .
THE WINTERHUDE.
The Finnish barque Wlnterhude, which Is lying ln the stream at Auckland and was expected to sail yesterday for South Australia to load wheat, will not depart, but will await further orders.
KIA ORA LEAVES LIVERPOOL.
The Kia Ora left Liverpool yesterday with cargo for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She comes via Cape Town and Sydney, and is due, at Auckland about April 5.
KARAMEA IN BALLAST.
The Karamea left London on Monday afternoon in ballast for New Zealand, via the Cape of Good Hope. She Is .due about March 27.
TAMAROA REPORTS "ALL WELL."
The Tamaroa, which left Wellington on February 8 for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal and Curacao, reports good weather since leaving New Zealand, and all are well on board. She is due off Pitcairn Island this evening.
HIGHLAND WARRIOR ARRIVES.
The Highland Warrior, which left Newcastle-on-Tyne on December 24 ln ballast for New Zealand, arrived at Auckland this morning to commence loading. She -wiU leave Auckland on Monday, and will call at Lyttelton, Bluff, and Wellington.
MATAKANA REPORTS.
The Matakana, en route from Sydney to Auckland, has , reported by wireless that she expects to arrive at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
OTAIO AT LONDON,
The Otaio, which left Lyttelton on January 5, for London, via Dakar, sailing from Dakar on 31st January, arrived at London in the afternoon of February 7 after a smart passage.
BENCRUACHAN AT DUNKIRK.
The Bencruachan, which left Timaru on January 5 for Dunkirk, arrived at Dunkirk at daybreak yesterday. She had. a cargo of wool, from New Zealand, and proceeds from Dunkirk to London.
ECHO PUTS BACK,
The Echo, which left for Blenheim at 8 p.m. yesterday, put back into Worser Bay on account of bad conditions outside the Heads. She left again for Blenheim at 12.15 p.m. today.
