"Germany is on the brink of a great political adventure, in which it is hoped the Hitler Government will practise moderation. _ "France is gripped in a grim financial struggle, and her anxieties are increased by the German Nazi Government. "America is still confronted with the economic crisis. South America is defaulting on an- unprecedented1 scale owing t;o the fall in prices. "Britain's anxiety is still great regarding the world, but things in the Empire are more cheerful. Australia and New Zealandhave passed through the deep waters, and both apparently are well advanced toward recovery. South Africa's virtual abandonment of the gold standard is stimulating industry and has started a mining shares boom."
