FIBROUS PLASTERERS
NEW AWARD SOUGHT
The Conciliation Council was engaged yesterday in hearing an application, by the Wellington Master Plasterers' Association for a new fibrous plasterers' award. .
After discussion, the representatives of both sides withdrew to consider the position in regard to wages. On their return, Mr. Mountjoy saia the final offer of the employers was: Is lid an hour for fibrous plasterers and Is 8d for casters and wallboard makers.
The workers' assessors offered to accept 2s (Hd an hour, and certain amendments were made in the pay of youths.
The Commissioner said the parties had reached a deadlock.
On the casting vote of the Commis sioner, the further, hearing of the &is pute was adjourned for 14 days.
