NAPIER MARINE INQUIRY
(By Telegraph.—Press Aasoc' .iion.) NAPIER, 30th January. The marine inquiry into the loss of the launch Doris, which sank aftei colliding with the. Tv Atu! at the inner entrance to the harbour on 28th De cember, ten lives being lost, was continued this afternoon. Medical and other evidence was given to the effect that Mentzer, the helmsman of the launch, was not under the influence of liquor on the day or I night of the tragedy. Dr. W. D. Fitzgerald said he saw Mentzer'.after he was brought ashore, when there was nothing in his condition to attract attention. The witness considered that Mentzer was perfectly sober. Mentzer was Tecalled and further questioned, and then counsel representing the various "interests addressed the Court. ■ \
His Worship intimated that the Court would be ready to give a' decision on Wednesday morning.
