AUSTRALIAN PROVINCIAL.
With reference to the announcement of the Australian Provincial Assurance Association,. Ltd., that the New Zealand subbranches had been closed, it is explained that the head office of the association: for the Dominion at. Wellington is being maintained; and in future the whole, of the administrative work for New Zealand will be conducted here.
AUSTRALIAN GENERAL INSURANCE
The Australian General Insurance Company, Ltd., reports an underwriting surplus of-£2375 for 1932, compared with an underwriting loss of £11,132 in 1931. Net premiums advanced by £11,164,.and losses were lower by £23,405, and management expenses lower by £1265. Jrom the credit of £7952 at profit and loss a dividend of ,6.per cent, requires £4200, leaving £3752' to" be transferred to contingent fund, which will be increased to £49,604. Total funds will, amount to £140,133. The previous year's dividend was i per cent, land for 1930 it was 9 j>.c. •
