THEFT FROM EMPLOYER

E. C. Hill, a married man, 24 years of age, pleaded guilty in the Petouo Magistrate's Court this morning to the theft of £15 worth of groceries from the Star Stores, Lower Hutt, where ho was employed as manager. He was admitted to probation for two years on condition that ho repays the amount by such instalments as tho probation officer may direct. An application for the suppression of his name, and that of the firm from whom the goods were stolen, was not entertained by Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., who heard the. case.

■Mr. E. W. E. Haldane appeared for the accused.
