RIFLE ACCIDENT

SOLICITOR'S DEATH

■ PALMEKSTON. N.,-This. Day. The death occurred at a private hospital in Palmerston North yesterday of Mr. Thomas Martin Page, barrister and solicitor, of Eketahuna, who received wounds to the mouth on 18th October as a result ot a rifle he was carrying exploding as he was passing through a fence. Ho was brought to Palmerston North by car immediately, and was admitted to hospital, and his condition gradually became worse. The youngest son of the late Mr. Joseph Ellett Page, a former Town Clerk, of Wellington, Mr. Page received his education at Wellington College. He studied law, and eventually went into practice at Eketahuna with his brother Edward, now Senior Magistrate at Wellington. lie married there Miss Olive Bright, who survives him, and there-are three sons— Messrs. Paul and Barrie Page (Wairarapa) and Eliett Page, a pupil at Nelson College. He was Mayor of Eketahuna for several terms. Brothers of the deceased are Messrs. R. F. Page (Hawera), James Page (Jersey Island), and Edward Page, S.M. (Wellington), and sisters are Mesdames F. R. Eames (Helensville); C. R. Stuart (Wellington), J. D. Barnett (Day's Bay), ,and. F. C. Buddie (Auckland).
