Sales? were reported as follows:— Dalgety and Co., £8 Us; Goldsbrough Mort, 24s 4d; New Zealand Guarantee Corporation, 5s 6d; Wright, Stephenson (pref.), 15s; Traders' Finance, Auckland (7s 6d pd.), 2s 6d; Farmers' Auctioneering (A pref.), 15s. ■. COAL, GAS, AND OTHER SHARES. Coal mines, regarded as investments, were rather quiet, tut' Pukeiniros were sought at -245, and Taupiris at 12s. West-port-Stocktons (ord. and pref.) had buyers at 7d and Is 3d, sellers asking Is and 2s respectively for these shares. Gas shares had a quiet market, with buyers of Christchurch at 24s 9d, also sellers of. Wellingtons at 31s, but no bids recorded. Brewery shares attracting investors' notice were Carlton at 28s, Tooheys at 18s, and Tooths at 30s, and sellers were prepared to approach these prices. Not much business was done in this section. The meat market was quiet: Buyers wanted Canterbury Frozen Meat (pref.) at 82s 6d, sellers quoting 90s. Wellington Meat Export (pref.) had buyers at 16s 9d, but no declared sellers. Industrials generally were Sulet-., Timber shares wanted included Leyland^O'Bnens at 19s.
