It is reported that application has1 been made to the Australian cricket, authorities -^by an English' newspaper for full Press facilities Nto be given J. i B. Hobbs, who has been engaged to contribute articles on the tour -of the M.C.C. team visiting Australia and New Zealand in the coming season. It is also understood that Mrs. Hobbs -will be accompanying her husband, who is apparently adhering to a decision made some time ago, that he did not feel disposed to embark upon another strenuous campaign as a player. Although. Hobbs is making the tour as a newspaper correspondent, there will be a very keen desire to see the noted cricketer in action, especially in New Zealand, before his remarkable cricketing career is brought to a close. The >hope is expressed by a \ leading ■Wellington cricket official that Hobbs might bo induced to play with • the M.C.C. team, subject, of course, to the team's consent (about ■which there should be ,no difficulty), on the occasion of its match in Wellington.
