SYDNEY BRIDGE
GUARDING THE RIVETS
No uioio trespassers will climb th« arch of the mighty Harbour Bridge. A £50 penalty failed1 to stop them, but. an ingenious device is now being erected at each approach which, it is.claimed, will end the practice, cays the Sydney "Daily Telegraph." Skilled work-., men from Walsh' Island have been erecting heavy stool frames,': with m&jsiva doors, at each entrance to the arch. » Fitted on'top of .these are revolving stoel rollers which, if graiped, J will throw the trespasser on to the rosdwuy. A bevel-edged blade also. hat been placed beside the rollers, as" an extra discouragement to climbers. It is believed that the device will obviate the necessity for night-watchmen on " the bridge. Though costing Bome-Tiundreds of pounds, it will put a brake on «ouvenir hunters .with a' penchant f.ot rivets.
