BRISBANE, This Day. s The Government has altered the scale of the wages tax to raise more funds, so that the..unemployed can be paid for relief work at award rates. Tho Minister of Labour, Mr. Hynes, stated that of 32,000 unemployed registered when the Government took office 17,000 were now employed on relief work.;

The tax ranges from 3d in the. £ on &2 a week to Is in the £ on £10 a week.
