WEDDINGS
[ The wedding was solemnised recently, at St. Andrew's Church, of Evelyn Margaret, fifth daughter of Mrs. A. M. ..Miller, -Aurora terrace, and the late Donald Miller, "Strathmore," IPalmerston, South, to Hugh Allen, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. James Henderson, Aylesbury, Canterbury.' The ceremony was performed by the Bey. B. J. Howie,! and Mr. Thomas presided.at the organ. The church had been tastefully decorated with narcissi and autumn tinted chrysanthemums! The bride, who was escorted by'her uncle, Mr. H. E. H. 1 Aplin, .wore! a charming frock of ivory I satin, close fitting and fully flared, each flare being outlined with accordion pleating. The skirt widened at the back to form a graceful train, while the long jbight-fitting sleeves were puffed at tho shoulder. Her embroidered tulle veilwas worn off the forehead, and fastened with a circlet of orange blossoms, and she carried a sheaf of gladioli and roses shaded from cream to pale apricot. The bridesmaids wore Misses Irene Miller (chief) 'and Elsie Miller (sisters of the bride) arid Janet Henderson (siater of.the bridegroom). They wore frocks of turquoise blue taffeta patterned in orange. The fitting skirts were flared from the. knees and finished with a very full ruching at the ankle, the. bodice being caped and finished with ruehing. Each carried a sheaf of gladioli and marigolds in shades of orange toning with their tilted felt hats. They wore amber necklaces and earrings (gifts of the bridegroom). Mr. David Lindsay (Christchurch) was best man, and Messrs. Norman Blakiston and Duncan Scott (both of. Dannevirke) groomsmen. A reception was held at the residence of the bride's mother, who wore a smart ensemble of black georgette embossed inpeaeh and gold chenille and trimmed with black fox fur Her hat was of black velour with white osproy, and she carried a bouquet in tones of peach and gold. Mrs. Henderson (mother of tho bridegroom) was in a becoming frock of black satin 10----maine relieved with white, and a black fur felt hat with feather mount. Her bouquet waa of crimson roses. The reception rooms were beautiful with masses of autumn flowers. Dancing and bridge passed a very enjoyable evening When Mr.-and Mrs. Henderson left for a tour of the North Island, the bride wore a model frock of silk marocain m two shades of green, a bottle-green velour coat with finishing of black astrachan and''a green glengarry hat Their future homo wUI be in Dannevirke.
