SYDNEY, This Day. "Wages should be the last thing cut in industry," declared Mr. Sydney Pascall, President of the Rotary (nternational, addressing the Newcastle Rotary Conference. He added: "If wages are first attacked, how can you expect the confidence of your workmen? An employer should be a leader without being an autocrat." He contended that profits were morally and ethically wrong if obtained at the expense of the worker.
