ROTARY CONFERENCE
AUSTRALIAN GATHERING'
FELLOWSHIP IN SERVICE

SYDNEY, This Day. A distinguished gathering of Rotariant attending the conference of the seventy-sixth district at Newcastlei warmly welcomed Mr. Sydney Pascall, president of the Rotary International. The Governor, Sir Philip Game, said that he rejoiced at the opportunity of meeting Mr. Pascall, the1 first Briton to occupy the presidency of the International.
Four hundred Rotarians from all parts of Australia are attending the conference. One of the subjects under discussion is bribery and corruption in. commercial life, the outcome of which will be a decision to form a bribery and secrets commissions prevention league, which will make appropriate representations to the authorities.
Mr. Pascall's address emphasised th« advantages of service before self, and the creation of a healthy social atmosphere. He said that Rotary Clubs were drawing France and Germany, closer together and bridging the prejudices between the Dutch and English in South Africa. .Rotarians must never lose grip of the fundamental principle of fellowship in service.
