SHANGHAI, 23rd April. Serious fighting, has occurred between Japanese and troops of the former province of Kirin in Manchuria.

Seven thousand Kirineso with ten guns attacked linienpo on Friday. The attack continued for three hours until Japanese reinforcements, brought up by armoured train and cars, counter-at; tacked, upon which • the Kirinese retreated, leaving a number of dead.

General disorders in Manchuria and terrorism in Harbin led to the discovery of a girl hiding rifles and explosives, also prominent Eussian members of the railway staff, who will be charged with membership of a terrorist Organisation.
