SERVICE AT ST. MARK'S

The JLnzac Day service, which was held at St. Mark's 'Church/on Sunday morning, was attended by'many of the officers and men from the' naval vessels in port.'"- All. the choir work was taken by the children under the direction of the teachers of tie school, and at exactly ,11 o'clock, they proceeded through the aisles to their places, head-, ed by the two senior boys carrying the British and New Zealand Ensigns, and singing, the iymn "Onward, Christian Soldiers." : The service was'conducted by the Eev. H. E. K. Fry, the children giving all the responses. The vicar of Khandallah, the Eev. E. M. Cowie, M.A., preached on "The Soldiers of Christ,'* and the lesson was'read by the Senior Officer, of the Navy. The service concluded with the singing of Kipling's "Recessional" and the National Anthem. •■ Every seat in the church was occupied, arid,the service was attended by Her Excellency Lady Bledisloo and suite. The-service was repeated in the evening, when the sermon was preached by the vicar of Eastbourne, the-Eev. W. Eaine.
