AT WESTPORT
(By Telegraph:—Press Associatiqn.), ■ :.'.. . WESTPORT,. 25th April. _ The Anzae-memorial service was hold ,in -the Theatre Boyal in beautiful weather. There was a large attendance. The Mayor, Mr. Harkness, presided. An impressive address was given by the Rev. S. Webber (Presbyterian) and other..members7of the. Ministers' Association also topk part-in the; service. A new feature was an'anthem, by combined. : choirs. At tho conclusion of the service..a-procession • comprising the firing-party, the Municipal .Band; yeteransi'/.'returned, soldiers, Territoruals Cadets, Boy Scouts, aniWolf Cubs, also Girl Guides and Brownies; was formed outside the theatre and marched to the Ga,t.es of Remembrance! .Victoria square, where a further brief service was held, with an address by the Rev. C. A. Foston, followed by the salute:by the firing party,, a 'lament played by-/ Pipers J. anft -U: -Banks, and ''The liast Post,'' sounded by Bandsman Taylor.-A large number of floral tributes'were placed at'Jhe foot of the memorial. rThe service concluded with' the' National Anthem, ,pla.yed by the .' Municipal :Band. ■The -returned soldiers were subsequently entertained at afternoon tea -by the Citizens' Committee.
