LONDON, 29th March. "The Times" Trieste correspondent says that a "Wasp Man," who appears like a wasp behind young women, stabs their sides and backs with a penknife, and disappears immediately, has terrorised Trieste for the past month. He has wounded at least twenty women, some seriously. Police and volunteers have hunted, in vain for the criminal, and women are warned not to Tesve their homes at night unescorted and are advised to wear steel corsets. • A leading newspaper at Trieste has now received a letter signed "The Wasp Man." The writer declares that he wished to punish women for immodest carriage during Lent. He hopes that the lesson will have been sufficient, and he will cease his attacks. Since Saturday there have been no outrages, indicating that the letter is genuine and written by a religious maniac.
