THE ABANDONED MATCHES
Last Saturday many tennis matches were abandoned because of rain, and the conditions on which they shall be replayed on Saturday were discussed at last evening's meeting of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association.
Members discussed the question from the point of view that in the cases of uncompleted matches they could be replayed if both teams agreed to do so, and then whether uncompleted matches should be recommenced, or whether they should be continued from the point where they were abandoned. Objection was raised that in some icases players would not know what the score was when matches were abandoned last Saturday. It was decided that matches completed shall not be replayed. Contests partially completed shall be replayed from the com-' mencement.
The question of the tournament which the Hutt Valley Sub-Association wishes to hold at Easter was referred to the New Zealand Council.
E. Fouhy, an affiliated player, who played in a tournament conducted by an unaffiliated body, was suspended from 15th February to 15th March.
It was decided to award cups at the Easter tournament conducted by the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association.
