WELLINGTON CLUB EVENTS
\ The, Wellington Rowing. .Club.-.rowed its ladies', plate, fours, on : Saturday .afternoon iii- beautiful/weather. About-60- members and :th'eir friend? thoroughly; enjoyed the afternoon's events. Nine crews participated; . and some *very close finishes resulted. A gathering was held in the clubhouse in the evening, and the trophy was presented to the winning . coxswain, Mrs. V. Woolcott.
The results are as follows: —
First heat: Horsman, Anderson, Sutton, Hollow (cox. Miss Hotter), defeated Lancaster, Zander, Gavin, Meredith (cox, Miss Hinchcliff), by half a length. •■ Second heat:; Costello, .Cockayne, Bamford;. and Woolcott (cox.- Mi* Beaton), defeated Hinchcliff. McLean, Norn's, and Webb (cox, Miss Watt), by half a length. ■Third..heat: Tregurtha, Newson, Steele, Affhcw (cox, Miss Hogan), defeated McGovern, Maney, Shanly, and McNair tcox, Miss R. Millar); by two feet. Fourth heat: Beasley. Bognuda, O'Sulliyan, Jury (cox, Mrs. Woolcott), defeated Riley, Coomber, Carpenter, and Meech (cox, Miss Hyde), by half a length. : A bye: Luke, Doidge, Millar, and Swan (cox, Miss H. Millar).- ' First semi-final: Luke's crew beat Horsrnan's by a canvas. . ..Second:semi-final:, Costello's crew, beat Tregurtha's by half a-'length. Third .semi-fipal: Beasley's crew .beat Luke's by one foot.
Final:'Beasley's crew beat Costello's by three feet. . . . . •.
The winning crew was.J. Beasley (str), F. Bognuda (3), M. O'Sullivan (2), W Jury (bow), Mrs. V. Woolcott (cox).
