SHARES IN AUSTRALIA

,; The Bank of New Zealand has informed its Australian shareholders that, dividends will be, treated as. payable in New Zealand currency. The decision affects the final dividends and the bonus of last year, and the interim dividend declared 'in December.! for the current year. In the first case, Australian shareholders receive an additional £18 for each £100 of. dividend payable in New Zealand, and in the case of the interim dividend £13 additional for each £100 of dividend- The circulate accompanying the. "additional amounts is in these terms: —"As a result of questions being raised by some Australian shareholders, the Bank of New Zealand has taken opinion of counsel, and it has been resolved that shareholders on the Australian registers should be paid the final dividend and the bonus for the year ended 31st March, ,1931, and the interim dividend declared in December last in respect of the. current year in New -Zealand.currency. Enclosed is a cheque for. the difference between the- amount you-actually received and the amount you should have received had you been handed a dividend warrant payable in New Zealand." '...■■
