DISAPPOINTING HORSES
When- the mean-lookiug ex-Aucklander Rangikaha wasr narrowly beaten in a race at Moonee? "Valley, some months ago most racing people arrived at the conclusion that he would be well worth following in future events. However,' he failed to reproduce that-form so often that people began to think that he was as poor as lie looked.
Adopting the policy that "little fish are sweet," . the connections of the gelding raced him round the country, but he disappointed them again and again. However, following a second at Buninyoug, Kangikaha 'won the Bittern Handicap on 20th January. They were a wretched lot that finished behind him, and there seems little prospect, of his showing to advantage in anything but the poorest company. Another former New Zealander * who seems to have lost all form is Sir Roy. Lately there have been some hopes that he might recover something of his old ability, but at Geelong on 27th January he could finish only filth in the Summer Handicap, one mile.
