GOOD WINTER HORSES
After being absent Tor several weeks, H. Rama's horses Mauawhemia, Taneriri; and' the three-year-old gelding by Musketoon reappeared on the tracks at Ellerslie last Tuesday, states a northern report. Manawhenui, who has not been entirely idle during his absence, is looking a picture of health, and has come back in very robust condition. He has made a complete recovery from the troubles that affected him before the holidays, and he is ready to go right ahead with serious work. If appearances count for anything, he should" be better than ever this year. Taneriri wa3 lightly blistered after running in the Auckland Cup, and has since been idle, wit's the result that he has lost some of his condition. However, lie is in good health, and should soon round into shape again now that he is working regularly. The Musketoon gelding is still very light in condition, but lie is thriving and ■should continue to make steady progress, although it will be some time yet before he is forward enough to have a race. It is unlikely that any of the horses will be required to do anything serious for a couple of weeks, as H.-Kama has gone off for a holiday in Taranaki.
