A statement issued by the Commonwealth Statistician is to the effect that the returns from trade unions confirmed the conclusion that unemployment had passed the peak and was mending slowly. In New South Wales the unemployed fell-from 125,000 in. August to 115,000 in September, and 110,000 in October. .'.'.."•'
