In the event of Wizard Smith breaking the record for speed on land, Sir Malcolm Campbell will take the Bluebird to Daytona in February to attempt to establish new figures. The Bluebird, fitted with a new radiator, is believed to be now capable of a speed of 270 miles an hour.

Kaye Don's Silver Bullet, in which he made an unsuccessful attempt in 1930, is also being altered with a view to challenge the;land*.speed record, after Don, has completed his efforts with Lord Wakefield's new speedboat Miss England 11.
