MODIFIED MEASURE
ACCEPTABLE TO ALL
(British Official Wireless.). . RUGBY, 11th January. It is understood that in their modi: fied form the Government proposals for tie establishment of a wheat quota system will be acceptable to the various interests concerned.
Sir John Gilmour, Minister of Agriculture, will meet representatives of the farmers, millers, merchants, and flour importers to dSseuss the matter to-morrow. Such alterations as have, been made in the original proposals do not affect the Government basic principle of a guarantee market for millable wheat at an enhanced price. If an agreement is reached as the outcome of. to-morrow's' conference, the Government probably will introduce a Bill soon after Parliament reassembles.
