SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
A merry audience of seafarers was entertained by Mis'. H. Aplin on Tuesday at thii Bafloi-a' Friend- Society, and gave her and. her helpers a rousing welcome and a vote of thanks. . The-performers were Mesdames Strong/Metc'dlf, Gibbs/Matbie, Aplin, Nash, Rosenthal, Misses Somess, Rosenthal, Nash, and.Messrs. Dyer and Bennett. Mesdames Strong , and Metcalf and Mr; Dyer were at the piano. Light refreshments were provided. - Mr. J. Moore (missioner) spoke on temperance. Mrs. W. Flannagan was the donor of prizes for the competitions; and they went to the Tainui. :..:
