A LIZARD THAT BARKS
He is called the frog lizard, becane* he has big eyes and a mouth like a frog; he has yellow spots and white markings and a peculiar fat tail. The odd part about the tail is that, in a. fight with: the enemy, the lizard throws off its tail, which skips about. Naturally the enemy looks at the tail. Possibly he says to himself, "Bless my eyes an 4 whiskers, what on earth is this?" and pauses to scratch his head. This is just what the lizard wants, because then he makes a scuttle for safety. _ If the enemy is stillon for fight th» lizard has one more trick. He raises himself on his tail—or as much as ha bas got left—and barks. That ought to confuse any enemy—a tailless lizard *ith a face like a frog, barking! Any; enemy might well be excused for running away.
