"JOHN AND JUDY"

Our neighbour has two pretty pet canaries. . He got them from a farmer who had about thirty pet birds. Theip Raines are Judy and John. The othep aay I went for some food, and bought lib of mixed birdseed, for that is what they like.

These are some of Judy's habits Her master made a little box with tha things that birds make their nests out; of. He hung it in their cage, and when she saw it, she began to peck it. When she saw that she could make * nest with it she did, and vow her master makes her another bos: e-tery day. John is a very quiet bird, and I like him better than Judy. Judy pecks at John, for any little thing he does, and of course John does not like it.

"They have jusfc finished making another nest, and they have four eggs. They had five, but one broke, so Judythrew it out of the window. I can! not tell you. any more, for they hay* gone to sleep."
