INTERNATIONAL RIDERS

FINE SPEEDWAY PROGRAMME,

Five riders from overseas, representing three different countries, will be seen in action at the Kilbirnie Speedway Stadium to-night. They are Kay Tauser, the American who has built up a big reputation on Australian and English tracks, Jack Jackson, and Tom Farndon, noted English riders, and Frank Duckett and Eric Whittle, of Australia. In a special series of match races they will compete against the leading local performers, and thrilling contests should result. Each of the five has proved his worth in the best company, and can be relied upon to return fast times, while the local riders, who have boeu showing fine form this season, will be ready to fight out every inch of the distance. Heading the Wellington riders will be the local champion, Wally Kilmister, who has never ridden more consistently than he has been doing this season, and who has rapidly worked himself into record-breaking form, as he proved last week. Kilmister and Farndon, who quickly won popularity on his first appearance at Kilbirnie, will each be given the opportunity of improving upon the Australian, Frank Pearee's, time of 7Bsec for four laps from a flying start. Pcnrce's record lias stood long enough to suggest that it is liable to be improved at any time, and Kilmister or Karndon may rlo it. Further pnrlicjlavs of what should prove an exceptionally fine meeting appear elsewhere iv this issue.
