MR. CHURCHILL

RECOVERS FROM INJURY

yiEV/S ON CURRENCY

NEW, YORK, 30th December.

Mr. • "Winston .Churchill has recovered from his injuries caused by being struck by a motor-car on 15th December. He received Press representatives and discussed the world's monetary affairs, denouncing proposals for a unified, stabilised, world currency. '

He said: "I, most decidedly repulse such a ,vile suggestion. It would be horrible to see a stabilised currency when wages are low."

He said the United States had it in its power to-day to enter upon a period of prosperity. " Meantime," he added, "you are writing your values down .every day."

Commenting on the large gold stocks held in- vaults, he said: "A great part of this is sterilised. It is like gold iii its' virgin state in the rock, and nobody knows how to get it out."
