POLICE PAY CUTS
MASS MEETING PROTESTS
SCENES AT ALBERT HALL
LONDON, Sth December. Unprecedented scenes were witnessed at the Albert Hall when policemen from all over the country assembled to protest against pay cuts. Within fifteen minutes of the doors opening the hall was filled to capacity of ten thousand. Two thousand more crowded to overflowing the gangways, sitting on one another's knees. The attendants closed the doors against another two thousand, who, angered after coming long distances, hammered at the doors. A strange sight was witnessed of uniformed men moving on their comrades. Inside the police sang patriotic songs and cheered speeches.
A resolution is being forwarded to the Home Secretary.
