Temporary relief-is being given periodically by the injeotion into the mmns of turpentine, which dissolves the napthaleua. This is a somewhat cumbersome process, arid to obviate it the'board has placed an order for a plant, costing £64, to eliminate the napthaleno ■ trouble at the works, The apparatus mixes into the gas a kerosene spray, which dissolves the napthalene into a. liquid which, running through the mains, is caught in the numerous syphon traps • that are provided for the catching of water.
