VISITING AUSTRALIANS
WHERE THEY WILL PLAY
Information on the subject of the itinerary ot the Australian women's tennis team which is to tour New Zealand early next year was brought back from Australia by "Huka," "The Post's" tennis correspondent, who arrived in New Zealand recently, :..'■■■
The team, which consists of Mrs. Molesworth, ■ ranked third player in Australia, Miss U. Valkenburg, No. 6 in Australia, Miss J. Hartigan, No, 9 in Australia, and Miss N. Hall, Australian junior champion, and which will have Mies N. _ Lloyd as maiiager, is to. arrive in Wellington on 4th January and leave for Christchurcb. on the eveuiug of the same day. There it will play in an invitation tournament for women, to be held at Wilding Park. The meeting will extend over 7th, Bth, and_9th January, and singles, doubles, and mixed doubles will be played. ' ' '. ' On 10th January the team'will leave for Timaru and play there on 11th January, leaving for Invercargill on 12th January, unless a match is arranged in Oaraaru, If the InvercargiU match, is held the team will play there on ,13th January and leave for- Dunedin on 14th January. ,■ If the Oamaru match takes place the arrival duto at Dunedin will be 'unaltered. The team is then to play iv Dunedin on loth and ICtli January, and leave for Wellington on 18th January, arriving on: tho following day. It then leaves Wellington for Auckland on 20th January, and will meet a New Zealand team on 23rd and 25th January, and play in the New Zealand championships from 26th t? 30th January, leaving Auckland for a visit to Kotorua on Ist or 2nd February. . ■
The remainder of the programme is under arrangement at present, and-wh.cn replies have been received from various . tgociations dates will be fixed for the rest of the tour. All the ladies, of whom pictures appear on to-day's illustrations page, arc classified' ns New South Wales players, though Mrs. Molesworth is a leading Queensland player. .
