MANAWATU SPEEDWAY.

Speedway racing in the Manawatu mad* a strong appeal last season, and now that it has been firmly established there is reason to believe that the coming season will be even more successful. A start ■with this season's activities is to be made to-morrow night, and for the opening an attractive programme has been arranged. There are large fields, and everything points to a night of keen racing, with performances showing an advance on thosa which helped to place the sport on a. high plane last season. Apart from Manawatu's competitors, a big team is expected from Wellington. The events include a "Big Kine Scratch," in which the best of the riders will be taking part. Thia should provide stirring tussles from flying start to finish, but there -will be thrills in plenty in the other events, allot which make up a programme in keeping with, the occasion.
