R.S.A. CHRISTMAS CHEER

At a meeting of the executive of the Returned Soldiers' Association last Wednesday, the Christmas Cheer sub-Com-mittee reported active progress with the scheme. Twenty subscription lists were in the hands of the committee and other helpers, a satisfactor? feature being ' that most of last year's donors are again supporting this fine work. Donations are also being received at the office of the association. Last year the soldier patients in the Ewart Hospital, and 52 families, comprising 380 people, received a substantial hamper through this fund. Rye members of the R.S.A. will again be detailed for duty as Santa Claus, commencing duty at 5 a.m. on Christmas Day, and visiting the families in their allotted districts.
