A PASSING VEHICLE

AVHAKATANE, This Day

AVhilo returning from Auckland last night shortly after 9 p.m. near Maramarua, Mr. H. W. Brabant was passing another car travelling slowly when the windsereeii of his car was pierced by a "small-calibre bullet, apparently fired from the passing car. The bullet shattered the glass, which lodged on Mr. Brabant's facr. and clothes. The bullet evidently passed between Mr. Brabant and his wife, who occupied the front scat.

The read was too narrow to,turn the c-iv, but Mr. Brabant jumped out and saw the other car speeding away. The matter was later reported to the police, at Paeroa,
