LONDON WEEDING

Christ Church, Down street, Mayfair, was filled to overflowing yesterday cm tho occasion of the marriage of Mr. Rowland Barnard, of Cairo, son of tho late Colonel W. A. M. Barnard, Grenadier Guards, and grandson of Sir Henry Barnard, X.C.8., and the Hon. Eileen Hermione Plunket, second daughter of the late Lord Plunket and of Lady Victoria Braithwaite, of White House, Denham, Bucks. Both families have a great number of connections. Every seat was occupied long before the arrival of tho wedding party. The chancel of the church was decorated with largo clusters of warm autumn-tinted chrysanthemums and beech sprays. The Rev. Rupert Strang, vicar of St. John's, Drury Lane, officiated, assisted by Dr. Farran. Lord Plunket escorted his sister, who wore a long-sleeved slightlytrained bridal gown of gold lace over gold chift'on, with a girdle of gold tissue ribbon, finished at tho back with a diamond buckle. The long veil of gold tulle was held in place by a halo headdress of gold crystal and oval-shaped topaz. The . sheaf of. lilium auratum completed the attractive scheme of a "bride in gold." Her attendants were six children, three little girls and three little boys—Misses Fiona Smith, Neelia Plunket, Sonia . Gunston, the Hon. Robin Plunket, Master Terence Rhodes, and Master Timothy Whidborne (nieces and nephews). The maids wore picture frocks of powder-blue organdie muslin, tho ankle-length skirts trimmed with frills in front. They had narrow wreaths of blue velvet flowers in their hair, and wore pink and blue crystal necklaces. The pages wore knickers and coats of powder-blue chiffon velvet, with waistcoats of blue silk. Viscount Valentia was best man. After the ceremony a family reception took place at 19, Tedworth square, Chelsea, residence of the Dowager Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava (grandmother of the bride). Later, Mr. and the Hon. Mrs. Barnard left to motor to Trieste and go thence to Cairo, where Mr. Barnard is assistant judge of the Jockey Club. Tho bride went away in a nut-brown frieze dress, with a yoke of beige georgette, over which she wore a short jacket to match, with beige squirrel collar and cuffs.
