DROP IN REGISTRATIONS

The Minister in Charge of Unemployment (the Eight Hon. J. G. Coates) announced to-day that the total number of unemployed registered during the week ended 16th November was 48,795, compared with 49,935 for the week ended 9th November, a decrease, of 1140. This decrease is the largest* that has taken place for some considerable time, and it is stated to be due to increased activity in seasonal occupations and the revival of the 4A scheme.
