CHRISTCHURCH MEETINGS
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHEISTCHUKCH, ISth Nov. Mr. E. J. Howard, Labour candidate for Christchurch South, in his opening meeting at Addington attacked the United Party for its desertion of Sir Joseph Ward's programme. He blamed the Reform Government of the war and post-war period for failing to tax the mdney coming into the country, and so, remove, the necessity for borrowing. He stressed the need for development. Mr. G. F. Allen, Coalitiou candidate for Christehurch East, opened his ca,mpaign to-iiight. He appealed for support for the Coalition as a safe Government for New Zealand in the present times of great financial difficulty. He received a vote of thanks and confidence.
