RUGBY, 16th November.

The League of Nations Council met in Paris this afternoon in connection with the Sin'o'-Japanese dispute in Manchuria. M. Briand reviewed-the situation to date,' and Sir John Simon, the British Foreign Minister, after thanking him, gave an assurance of Britain's collaboration in the League's efforts to settle the difficulty.

The Council considered procedure in private session, and adjourned until tomorrow.

According to Paris Press telegrams, the problem may be dealt with both in relation to the Paris Pact for Renunciation of War and to the Chinese Note expressing willingness to submit all the_ treaty questions to the International' Court at the Hague.
