MR. W. NASH AT MOERA
Advancing his candidature for the Hutt seat, Mr. Walter Nash addressed a crowded audience atithe Moera Public Hall last evening, and outlined Labour's objective in the campaign. Mr. A. E. Sergont presided over nearly 500 people. ' Mr. Nash dealt latgoly with the rush legislation passed during the final week of the Parliamentary session, in particular the Financo ;Act No. 4, which contained many clauses of groat importance. Speaking of the Mortgagors Belief Amendment Bill,) he pointed out the unfairness, of limiting the relief to country farm lands. Hp said he was opposed in every way to Interference ■with tlie educational facilities of the country. ; Ho advocated Jegislltive curtailmont in interest rates, with the right of appeal by -the mortgagee in cases of proved hardship. lie strongly criticised the policy of the Gofernrnent in continuing to give £21 bonus and free passage of domestics coming from Great Britain, when so many thousands of women in New Zeafcnd were unemployed. I Mr. Nash was accqrded a' voto of thanks and appreciation of his services as member for the district,.and confidence was expressed ii bi& candidature.
